(August 2006 - March 2008) Henry was found March 27, 2008 (he
was missing for 17 days). He was found in the backyard pool which only had a small amount of frozen rain water in it. It was one of the first places everyone looked. Search teams gathered there several times in the past weeks and no one saw him because pool had been covered in ice and leaves.
This is a sad and terrible lesson that we all had to learn the hard way. Please
remember as we approach summer months, that pools (even just partially
filled) are dangerous for kids and pets.
We will miss Henry so much... but he is home now. Thank you all for your support.
~Through my tears I look upwards to see if you are watching me...
~ Those we hold most dear never truly leave us... A sample of messages from friends and strangers alike... "So sorry to hear about this. My thoughts are with you and your family through this hard time...remember that all dogs go to heaven." "My heart was so sad today when I heard of Henry's fate, and I never even knew him. I can't imagine the sadness you feel. He will continue to run with you forever in spirit." "I am so sorry. Your efforts to find Henry sparked a feeling of community that is much needed in this day and age. Remember that each day that passes since you've seen Henry is bringing you closer to the day you will see him again." "My family's thoughts and prayers are with your family. Your search efforts were unparallelled and such an amazing example for our community of true love and unbreakable commitment. Your example served as a great teaching moment for me with my children. We have been looking for Henry with you. My hearts breaks for and with you." "Sorry to hear about your loss. Your efforts made Henry a legacy in Wayland. From every loss comes some goodness...it was touching to see so much love and good will go into efforts to find him." "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." "Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved Henry. We hope, in time, that happy memories replace the sorrow you are now feeling." "What a wonderful, happy and blessed life Henry had with you. He was such a beauty and a very, very well-loved and loving dog. You gave him so much and he knew it. Know you made his life so very happy and good. Henry was meant for you and no one else. What a special dog. You must miss him so much; there is no pain like that. It can make you cry and cry. I am sure he is watching over you and will be every second of the day and night forever, just as he always has. You made each other happy. Keep that. Dogs live in the moment. Keep all those happy, loving, sleepy, bumbling, goofy lab moments close by. He'll want you to. I'll bet all he ever wanted was for you to be happy. Henry's ok now. He'll always be close, protecting you and loving you and wanting you to be happy." "I have followed your search for Henry and hoped so hard for a happy ending. Take solace that, at least, you know where he is - in your hearts always." "Words cannot describe my sorrow for you and all the hundreds of people on the look out for Henry. It is inconceivable to me that he is gone as in the short time since the newspaper article in the MetroWest Daily News he has been in so many hearts and minds for a happy reunion with you. This is so sad but know that many people who you have never met have been touched by you and your very special pet." "Only those who have lost a very special pet truly understand your pain. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that you gave Henry so much happiness and love during his life. That is the best life a pet can have." "Though the ending is sad, Henry's life was happy. I am so sorry for your loss. Hopefully this ending will bring closure to you and your family knowing that wherever you are, Henry is always with you now. You have brought a sense of community into the metrowest and Henry will live on in all of our hearts. I hope you can find peace knowing that Henry was not out in the cold for the past few weeks, he was right there with you, watching over you as he always will be." You are visitor # |
